🚧 Traffic Advisory - Lone Hill from the 210 freeway to Route 66.🚧

🚨Street rehabilitation is anticipated to begin next week (August 24th), and will include grind and overlay of new pavement, new striping, and traffic signal improvements. Traffic will intermittently be impacted during construction, with lane closures and including temporary on/off ramp closures.

👷‍♂️This project will completed in phases over several weeks, with work anticipated to be finished before the end of the year. Please plan ahead and avoid the area or use alternate routes, if possible.

PRESS RELEASE — Glendora, CA

This July and beyond, the Glendora Police Department encourages drivers to follow the speed limit and “slow the fast down.”

During the month of July, the Glendora Police Department will have additional officers on patrol looking for drivers who are speeding or driving too fast for conditions.

Speeding remains a leading factor in deadly crashes and is consistently the top safety
concern among surveyed California drivers, according to the 2025 California Traffic Safety Survey. Even small increases in speed reduce the time drivers have to react and significantly increases the force of a crash. Slowing down is a simple, effective way to prevent tragedies on our roads.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), 11,288 people died from speeding-related crashes in the U.S. in 2024, accounting for 29% of all traffic fatalities that year. In California alone, 1,139 people were killed in speeding-related
crashes in 2024.

Members of the Glendora Police Department proudly participated in the Law Enforcement Torch Run to support and raise awareness for Special Olympics athletes. The Torch Run represents more than a relay—it symbolizes inclusion, determination, and the incredible achievements of Special Olympics athletes.

We are honored to carry the Flame of Hope and stand alongside our law enforcement partners and community members in support of Special Olympics. Thank you to everyone who cheered us on and helped make a difference.

Today, on Peace Officers Memorial Day, we pause to honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their communities and this nation. Their courage, dedication, and selflessness will never be forgotten.

We especially remember fallen Glendora Police Agent Louie Pompei, whose service and sacrifice continue to leave a lasting impact on our department and community.

May we never forget those who gave everything in the line of duty. We honor their memory not only today, but every day.

PRESS RELEASE - Glendora, CA

The Glendora Police Department reminds travelers to always buckle up and secure children in the right car seats when visiting friends and family.

This year's Click It or Ticket campaign runs from May 18 to 31. During this time, the Glendora Police Department will have additional officers on patrol actively looking for drivers and passengers who are not wearing seat belts. This includes vehicles in which children are not secured in child safety seats or the appropriate safety seats for their age.

"Our priority is protecting the people in our community. Wearing a seat belt or securing children in the correct safety seat gives everyone a better chance of surviving a crash," Glendora Police Department Captain Shelly Gold said. "We want every trip - short or long - to end safely, so please buckle up, every time."

PRESS RELEASE - Glendora, CA

The holiday season can be dangerous for people on the roads. In December 2023 alone, 1,038 people were killed in the U.S. in alcohol-impaired-driving crashes, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The Glendora Police Department wants to remind the public of the dangers of driving impaired and to celebrate the holiday season responsibly by not driving under the influence.

From December 12 through New Year’s Day, the Glendora Police Department will have additional officers on patrol looking for drivers suspected of being under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. The high-visibility enforcement effort is part of a national campaign, Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over, with the goal of stopping suspected impaired drivers who put others at risk.

“We want to make sure everyone gets home safely so that they can celebrate the holiday season with their families and loved ones,” Glendora Police Department Police Captain Shelly Gold said. “Not only is driving impaired illegal, but it is also dangerous and never acceptable. We are asking everyone to do their part to keep themselves and everyone on the roads safe.”

PRESS RELEASE - Glendora, CA

On December 5th, the Glendora Police Department will conduct a driving under the influence (DUI) Checkpoint from 6:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. at an undisclosed location.

DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on data showing incidents of impaired driving-related crashes. The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints are to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off the road.

“Impaired drivers put others on the road at significant risk,” Police Chief Mike Randazzo
said. “Any prevention measures that reduce the number of impaired drivers on our roads
significantly improve traffic safety.”
