Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. First Edition. First edition, first printing. Signed by the author on the front free end paper, inscribed to Cynthia Farah, May 1986 who compiled the book Literature and Landscape: Writers of the Southwest. Very Good with light rubbing at tips. In a Good dust jacket with publisher's price of $3.50 intact, light rubbing, light chipping at edges. The author's first published book, which after an initial publication of 5,000 copies he immediately wanted to disown. It has never been reprinted as per Abbey's request, and signed copies are extremely scarce.

How about a few rarities?
Cormac McCarthy's first book- TheOrchard Keeper- 1st edition, 1st printing. Near perfect in bright non chipped jacket with very slight wrinkling on the upper left front corner. Book is tight and appears unread. Only flaw is slight dark spots on rear board. Very collectable copy. Not price clipped. Purchased for my collection in Feb 1994.
