Last weekend, Troop 393 joined forces with Cub Scouts Pack 393 as well as a few local 4th Grade Girl Scouts to bring some holiday cheer and caroling to a local senior living facility! Is definitely a favorite scouting tradition!

Greetings from Camp Long Lake! Today after the daily merit badge programming, the Scouts took part in a silent dinner followed by another challenge called Aquafest. There were 4 parts to Aquafest: swamp monster, egg toss, sink a canoe, and sand castle. Ask your camper about these when they return! Aquafest brought Troop 393 another 1st place! Back at the campsite before bed, the kids practiced their best impressions.

The rain won't hold these campers back!

Wednesdays at Camp Long Lake mean breakfast (pancakes, sausage, pan roasted potatoes) and dinner (chicken alfredo) made by scouts at the campsite. Some camp staff also come for the meals. One our Troop 393 Eagle Scouts who now works in the kitchen at the camp paid a special visit!

Another day at camp means another evening challenge - this one more of a mental chellenge. The scouts worked through various tasks, puzzles, and riddles to get signatures at various stations that lead to catching a bandit. These kids are working hard and having fun! Here's a photo of the kids receiving a riddle to work through.

Lots of fun happening at camp! In addition to a busy day of merit badge learning and rank requirement achievements, the Scouts participated in a relay race utilizing many Scout skills: archery, first aid, plant identification, swimming, climbing/bouldering, knot tying, canoeing, and finally passed on the baton (a well shaken soda) for the SPL to chug. Lots of Scout spirit and support for one another, and Troop 393 won!
