To meet Department of War requirements, the Navy is implementing updates to the 2026 Physical Fitness Assessment.

Key changes:

- Active: 2 fitness assessments/year

- Reserve: 1 fitness assessment/year

- New BCA starts with sex-neutral waist-to-height ratio

- Actual scores now included in FITREPs/EVALs

- Introduction of the Combat Fitness Assessment/Combat Fitness Test for combat specialties

- Incorporating PT into the daily battle-rhythm

⚓ CY26 MAP-R Season Is Coming 📈

The Reserve Meritorious Advancement Program empowers leaders to advance Sailors already performing at the level we need for today’s fight.

MAP-R rewards sustained excellence, reinforces readiness, and keeps proven talent in the Navy Reserve. This leadership tool strengthens the force by recognizing Sailors ready to lead now.

The CY26 MAP-R season runs from 1 January through 28 February 2026. Advancement opportunities vary by rating each season to maintain force balance and readiness. Leaders should review eligibility and communicate clearly with their Sailors.

Leaders: identify your top performers and prepare now. Performance matters. For submission details and deadlines, contact your CCC.
