Since June, California has deployed 3,372 personnel and 258 pieces of equipment to support wildfire, flood, and earthquake response in 12 states and two countries, all without reducing the state’s ability to protect communities at home. Most recently, California mobilized crews to support the Hawk Fire on the California-Nevada border as the state helps communities respond to disasters nationwide.

It was a pleasure welcoming A R M E N C H I K, Super, Jivan Gasparyan, and Yura Movsisyan to Fire Station 21.

We had a great time showing them around, introducing them to our members, and talking about their shared love for Glendale and the community we are all proud to serve.

We truly appreciated their visit, their time, and especially their kind words about the women and men of the Glendale Fire Department.

Deeply honored to receive an Honorary Doctor of Public Administration from the California Institute of Advanced Management California Institute of Advanced Management.

I am grateful to President Paduntin, the Board of Trustees, and the entire CIAM community for this meaningful recognition. It was also a privilege to celebrate the Class of 2026 and recognize the commitment, resilience, and hard work that brought each graduate to this moment.

I share this honor with my family, the women and men I have served alongside, and everyone who has supported me throughout my leadership journey.

Today, we held our annual Glendale Fire Department Labor-Management Summit, bringing together department leadership and our labor representatives.

We continue to believe that strong organizations are built through open communication, mutual respect, and a willingness to have meaningful conversations about the future.

The summit gives us an opportunity to get outside of our day-to-day responsibilities and spend focused time discussing where we are as a department, where we are headed, and how we continue moving forward together.

I am grateful to everyone who participated and contributed to the conversation. We may not always approach every issue from the same perspective, but our commitment to our firefighters, our department, and the community we serve remains the common ground.

Thank you to the Glendale Firefighters’ Association and our entire leadership team for their continued partnership and investment in the future of the Glendale Fire Department.
