Kiwanis Club of Glendale CA Kiwanis Club of Glendale has been a driving force since 1922 in improving the quality of life in our community, especially for children.

Kiwanis International and its service leadership programs for young people, including Circle K, Key Club, Key Leader, Builders Club, K-Kids, Kiwanis Junior and Aktion Club dedicate more than 19 million volunteer hours and invest US$100 million to strengthen communities and serve children annually. The Kiwanis International family comprises 600,000 adult and youth members and 8,600 clubs in 96 coun

tries and geographic areas. Kiwanis members make their mark by responding to the needs of their communities and pooling their resources to address worldwide issues. Globally, Kiwanis International was successful in its humanitarian efforts in eliminating iodine deficiency disorders (IDD), through the Worldwide Service Project, a US$100+ million campaign in partnership with UNICEF, which began in 1994 and concluded in 2000. It is now embarking, again with UNICEF, on the EliMiNaTe project to eliminate Maternal and Neo-natal Tetanus worldwide.

What a fantastic Friday gathering for the Kiwanis Club of Glendale!

Yesterday we celebrated our June birthdays and anniversaries, recognized the accomplishments of Past President, Jose Sierra, on his new role as Region 7 Trustee, and enjoyed a fun and educational presentation from wine sommelier Dylan Sylvester. Dylan shared fascinating insights into the creation of wine and gave us a greater appreciation for the craftsmanship behind every bottle.

As if that wasn’t enough excitement, an impromptu auction broke out and helped raise more than $100 for our Foundation, supporting the important work we do in our community.

Great friends, great learning, great laughter, and great impact… that’s what Fridays with Kiwanis are all about!
