💚 Wellness, connection, and a moment to feel grounded! 🏺🌿

At the Los Angeles Su***de Prevention Summit (LASPN), held at The California Endowment Center, Center Empowerment Families collaborated with Creative Well-Being to host WellNest, a welcoming space centered on wellness, connection, and healing through the arts. ✨

As part of WellNest, Center Empowerment Families Ceramics, Art Facilitator Adesina led a grounding ceramics activity, inviting attendees to slow down, work with their hands, and find a moment of calm and connection through clay. 🏺🤎

🐦 Talk about an egg-cellent way to spend the afternoon! 🪺✨

Our little artists at Invictus were absolutely clay-zing it during their afterschool ceramics class with Center Empowerment Families Lead Facilitator Serafina! 🤎 Participants molded adorable clay birds and built them cozy nests to call home. Feathers may have been optional, but imagination was definitely flying high! 🐣🎨

🦸‍♀️ Superpowers activated at Invictus! ⚡🎨

Participants stepped into superhero mode as they designed and created their very own superhero cuffs, turning their ideas into wearable works of art. From bold colors to personal touches, every cuff was made for a hero with a story of their own. 💥✨

Center Empowerment Families Artists Serafina and Adesina led the way, helping participants bring their superhero visions to life. A super sized thank you to Department of Arts & Culture for helping make experiences like these possible and giving young artists a space to discover the power of art! 🦸‍♂️💫

Zen Garden 🪷 A Space to Slow Down featured at the Los Angeles Su***de Prevention Network Los Angeles County Su***de Prevention Network Wellnest Corner by Center for the Empowerment of Families Inc., designed by Wellness Director Briauna Holmes. Take a moment to slow down, breathe & create patterns in the sand. We also featured bonsai trees and ficus grown locally in LA County.

📚💥 Cover to cover, the stories keep coming! We’re flipping back through the P-Unit at Los Padrinos Juvenile Hall to spotlight even more original comic book covers created by participants during their Comics workshop. This time, the covers are taking center stage! 🎨📖

Each one brings a completely different idea to the page, from original characters and bold titles to imaginative details that give you a glimpse of the story waiting inside. No two were alike, and there were too many great ones to fit into just one post! ✍️💭💥

Another shoutout to Center Empowerment Families Art Facilitator Clint for guiding participants as they developed their ideas and brought their comic book concepts to life. And thank you to Department of Arts & Culture for supporting opportunities where young artists can explore storytelling, build their skills, and bring their visions to the page! 📚🎨

🍕🌿 A slice, a sip, and a little garden magic! 🥤🍄

Participants at Loma Alta rolled up their sleeves for a tasty trio making their own pizzas, blending up refreshing smoothies, and building adorable Mini Garden Parfaits complete with edible “soil,” tiny mushrooms, greenery, and a few wiggly garden visitors. 🪱🌱 From savory to sweet, this session had a little something growing for everyone!

Big thanks to our Center Empowerment Families Facilitators Courtney and Marlene for serving up such a fun, hands on afternoon. 💚 And a special shoutout to Department of Arts & Culture for helping us keep planting the seeds for experiences where participants can mix, make, taste, and try something new. 🌱✨

🌊🌻 From under the sea to soaking up the sun! Creativity took us from ocean depths to golden petals at Los Padrinos Juvenile Hall, where participants in Unit S2 turned their canvases into their own little worlds. From sharks cruising through deep blue waters to sunflowers reaching toward the light, every brushstroke told a different story. 🦈☀️🎨

Art facilitator Jose Escobedo helped bring these colorful visions to life, proving there’s no limit to where a blank canvas can take you. 💭🖌️ Big love to Department of Arts & Culture for helping us keep imagination in full bloom, and creativity making waves! 🌊🌻✨

🍓 Berry cute creations and three in a row kind of fun! ❌⭕️✨

Things got fruitfully creative at Pomona Wellness Center as participants designed their own edible arrangements before switching gears for some tic-tac-toe fun! 🍇🍓 From picture perfect bites to a little friendly competition, this session was definitely a win win. 😉

Center Empowerment Families Art facilitators kay and Raquel brought all the sweet ideas and playful energy to the table. 💐🍉 And a special shoutout to Department of Arts & Culture for helping us keep creativity, connection, and community on the menu! 💛🎨
