CHANGEMAKER- Someone who sees a problem in their home, school, or community, and takes action to make a difference!

We continue to be so impressed by NG and the heart they show for helping others. Yesterday was a powerful and inspiring afternoon as we welcomed representatives from the five local organizations supported during our Penny War: Kirkcare, Duo Dogs, Angels' Arms, TASK, and Kinwell Senior Living.

Our Changemakers took the lead in thanking these organizations for the important work they do and proudly shared how they raised funds through their own efforts—hosting lemonade stands, mowing lawns, babysitting, and more. Their dedication and creativity truly reflected our mission of making a difference and supporting others.

Each organization was presented with a thank-you note signed by the Changemakers, along with a donation check for $817. It was meaningful for students to hear firsthand how their contributions will make an impact, and the experience left many feeling inspired to continue creating positive change.

A first grade publishing party is a joyful classroom celebration where young writers share their finished work with an authentic audience.
In Ms. Holt’s class, families were invited into the classroom to take part in this special event. Students proudly read their stories aloud to their guests, showcasing the books they’ve been working on over the past month. Each student completed four books—drafting, writing, and illustrating their work from start to finish.
After the readings, classmates and guests had the opportunity to write compliment cards to the first grade authors, offering thoughtful feedback and celebrating each student’s creativity and effort.
It’s more than just sharing stories—it’s about building confidence, honoring the writing process, and recognizing the growth each student has made. Moments like these highlight the excitement of learning and the pride students feel when they see themselves as real authors.

1-2-3-4 NG Declares a Penny War! April 20th-24th the Changemaker Club is hosting a school wide Penny War! Students with grown up permission can bring in coins and bills to help us raise money to give to 5 different organizations. We are asking students to think of way to EARN money. For example raking leaves, washing cars, babysitting, or even running a lemonade stand. Students should arrive at NG and go straight to the tables located in front of the office with their money to participate!

Wanting to help make a difference? We are looking for volunteers to help sort and count the money by grade level.
If you are available, please click the link below and consider signing up for a time slot. Your help makes a big difference in making this event run smoothly! https://trst.in/AGjY0O

Thank you NG community for participating in our first ever Inked for Impact!
Because of your enthusiasm and willingness to join in the temporary tattoo fun, we raised over $500. This money will be donated to a local organization chosen based on a suggestion from NG’s Changemaker Club.
We are so grateful for a community that shows up, supports one another, and helps make a positive impact. Thank you NG!

Please partner with us to raise awareness, stay alert and keep our students safe - At the end of the month, Missouri American Water will start a water main replacement project on N. Berry Road, stretching from Big Bend Boulevard north to Gramercy Place. This work will require full road closures in the immediate construction zones, and we expect a significant impact on traffic flow and pedestrian routes near our school. Warning signs and detour routes will be posted, and you will see increased reminders about safety at and near our campus. The Glendale Police Department will have an increased presence during arrival and dismissal to help manage traffic and ensure student safety.
