Somervell County Sheriff’s Office would like to welcome back all students, teachers and GRISD staff to the 2026-2027 school year. We have a great group of SRO’s waiting to see each of you.

Please be patient the first few weeks as the lines around school are usually long. SRO’s and Deputies will be around all of the schools to make this a successful year for our kiddos.

Keep in mind the cell phone laws and school zone speeds around our campuses.

A photo of the Texas Traffic Laws regarding school bus pick up and drop off requirements are below. You must stop for a school bus in both directions unless it is a divided grass or concrete median.

UPDATE: Sometime after 1am last night services were fixed. All operation should be back to normal.

IT has informed us that Spectrum Phone Service has an outage in the area of the Somervell Co. Sheriff’s Office. They advised earlier today that it could take up to 9hrs to be resolved.

911 services are working properly and the (254)897-2242 non-emergency line is rolling to a working phone number.

We will let you know when the disruption is fixed and back to normal.
