Congratulations Firefighter Elena Eberle!

The Glen Gardner Fire Company is proud to recognize Firefighter Eberle for successfully completing and passing her National Registry EMT certification through the South Branch Emergency Services Program.

This training program, completed over the course of several months, required a strong commitment of time and effort. This included time in the classroom, hands on practicals, and hospital time.

Having EMT certified firefighters significantly enhances our company’s ability to respond to a wide range of emergencies. Whether it's an EMS incident, motor vehicle accident, or fire scene, having members trained in multiple skills can provide immediate lifesaving care making a critical difference when seconds counts.

Please join us in congratulating Firefighter/EMT Eberle!

This morning just after 11:10am the fire company was dispatched to the southern end of Main St for a Major Motor Vehicle Accident involving a work truck into the side of a structure with reported entrapment. Squad 12 & Brush 12 responded with five firefighters and were the first due suppression and rescue units on location. The crew from Squad 12 extricated the patient within three minutes after arrival, and turned the patient over to the awaiting South Branch BLS and HMC paramedics crews. Engine 12 with a crew of three firefighters responded to the Glen Gardner Park to support a MEDIVAC landing and assist with patient transfer before responding to the scene. Crews from Hunterdon County USAR secured the structure temporarily until more permanent repairs are made.

Main St will remain closed to thru traffic between Sanatorium Road and Hunt Pl for the near future.

Also dispatched on this incident were the South Branch Emergency Services, Inc., Hampton Fire Co Sta.13, Hunterdon County Paramedics, Hunterdon County Hazmat Team, Hunterdon County OEM, Hunterdon County Urban Search & Rescue, and New Jersey State Police.

We hate to be blunt, but we need to ask a favor. Please stop using the station parking lot for u-turns. We’ve had a few instances where vehicles performing a U-turn hindered our members responding either to the station or trying to respond in apparatus. We get that it’s an easy place to do it, but remember that our parking lot can go from empty to really busy really quick. We thank you for your time and we hope you all have a great holiday weekend.
