For 50 years, the members of Upper Laurel Fire - Rescue have answered the call — and none of it would have been possible without the EMS providers who stood beside us every step of the way.

From late-night calls and hard scenes… to lifesaving moments, heartbreak, victories, exhaustion, and everything in between — EMS has always been a vital part of who we are as a department and as a community.

As this EMS Week comes to an end, we want to recognize every EMVO, EMT, AEMT, Paramedic, dispatcher, nurse, first responder, student, instructor, and volunteer who has dedicated themselves to caring for others when it matters most.

To those who came before us, those serving now, and those who will carry the mission into the future: thank you.

50 years strong, and still answering the call together.

We are excited to announce that our agency successfully completed the WVOEMS Agency & Vehicle Inspection today and passed with flying colors. As a result, our agency license has officially been renewed for another 4 years.

This inspection process helps ensure that our equipment, vehicles, medications, and operations continue to meet the high standards required to provide emergency medical care to our community and surrounding areas. We are incredibly proud of the hard work and dedication our members put into making this possible.

We are also proud to announce that both Rescue 503 and Rescue 506 are now fully ALS equipped. The addition of Rescue 503 as an ALS-equipped response unit significantly increases our capabilities, improves response readiness, and strengthens the level of advanced care we are able to bring directly to the patient when seconds matter most.

This achievement represents countless hours of preparation, training, organization, and commitment from our volunteers.

Thank you to our members for the work you continue to put in behind the scenes, and thank you to our community for the continued support you show us every day.
