Today is Emancipation Day here in Maryland! While nationally we celebrate Juneteenth, locally Maryland declared that all enslaved people were free from bo***ge on November 1st, 1864 with a new constitution. Please take a moment and read about our important history from my favorite local historian, Janice Hayes-Williams!
