On April 22, 2013 the Board of Education voted to identify $800,000 of cuts from next year's (2013-2014) education budget, as required by the Glastonbury Town Council. In response to professional administrator recommendations and parent input the Board chose cuts that would protect our core educational system and that would impact student instruction as little as possible. The Board reduced the high school staff by one teacher (dependent on student course selection) and the middle school staff by one elective teacher. In addition, the following accounts were affected: health savings, post employment benefits and security. As always, the Board will continue to monitor both class sizes and school security.
