In an effort to prevent summer learning loss, the Glastonbury and Tri-Town YMCA is partnering with Barnes & Noble to provide local students with summer learning backpacks. We are seeking your support to help give children the tools they need to learn, grow, and feel confident as they head into the next school year.
You can make a difference by sponsoring a backpack for a child. For $50, each backpack includes grade-specific fiction and non-fiction books, workbooks, flashcards, educational games, physical activity challenges, and parent guides.
Our goal is to provide 50 backpacks to youth in Wethersfield and 50 backpacks to youth in Glastonbury.

Today kicks off our week of appreciation for our amazing teachers! We are so lucky to have such dedicated individuals supporting the children across all of our programs. Many of our teachers are balancing high school or college, athletics, additional jobs, and other responsibilities—yet they still show up each day for the kids.

They create safe, fun environments where children can play, grow, and truly enjoy themselves. The impact they have on our children’s lives is incredible.

One week can’t fully express how much we appreciate them, but we are excited to celebrate them and show just how much you are valued.
