🤝 Joint Training Builds Stronger Partnerships
The Rowan University Police Department recently partnered with Rowan University EMS for joint training focused on defensive tactics and safe restraint techniques.
This collaborative training began last year following an incident involving an EMT in a surrounding agency. Recognizing the potential dangers faced by emergency medical personnel, RUPD and Rowan EMS worked together to provide practical skills for safely managing combative patients until additional assistance arrives.
Once again, the training was well received by everyone involved. Rowan EMS members reported feeling more confident in their ability to protect themselves, control a combative patient and maintain a safe environment while awaiting additional help.
We are proud of this continued partnership and appreciate everyone who made the training possible. A special thank-you goes to Sgt. Anderson, Ptlm. Sottnick, Ptlm. DiVentura and Ptlm. Doyle for sharing their knowledge, experience and commitment to officer and responder safety.
Collaborative training like this strengthens our emergency-response capabilities and helps keep our responders and the Rowan University community safe.
