🇺🇸 25 YEARS. WE WILL NEVER FORGET. 🇺🇸
Twenty-five years ago today, first responders woke up, put on their uniforms, kissed their families goodbye, and went to work — never knowing that for so many, it would be the last time.
When the call came, they answered.
Firefighters climbed the stairs while others were coming down. EMS crews treated the injured in unimaginable conditions. Police officers, dispatchers, military personnel, and ordinary citizens stepped forward when they were needed most.
They didn't do it for recognition.
They did it because someone needed help
As members of Glasgow Life Saving & First Aid Crew, Inc., that hits close to home. Every time the tones drop and we leave our families to answer someone else's emergency, we carry a small piece of the legacy left by those who served on September 11, 2001.
We may wear different uniforms. We may serve a small community miles away from New York City.
But the mission remains the same — when someone calls for help, we go.
Today, Rescue 3 remembers every life taken, every family forever changed, and every brother and sister in public safety who answered the call and never came home.
Their watch ended that day. Their legacy did not.
Twenty-five years later, we still answer the tones.
We still climb in the truck.
We still leave our families to help someone else's.
And every time we do, we carry them with us.
We will remember their names.
We will honor their sacrifice.
We will carry on their mission.
