It is with deep love and gratitude for a life well lived that we announce the peaceful passing of Robert “Bob” Box at the age of 91.

Bob proudly dedicated 28 years of honorable service to the United States Marine Corps. A Marine through and through, he embodied the Marine spirit with humility, honor, and pride—Oorah. His military service allowed him to see the world, and he deeply cherished the memories and lifelong friendships formed along the way. Even after retiring from active duty, Bob remained steadfastly connected to the military community. He was a proud member of the Marine Corps League, the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), and devoted over 40 years to the American Legion, where he found camaraderie and continued his service to fellow veterans.

Following his military career, Bob pursued higher education and earned a business degree from Rockhurst University, reflecting his lifelong commitment to growth, learning, and perseverance.

Please join us as we gather to honor and say farewell to our fellow Legion member of 40 years.

The VAVS Group at the KCVA is incredibly grateful to have received 30 gift cards to support Veterans in need. A huge shout-out to our Post for raising the funds that allow us to give back and continue helping our fellow Veterans.

One of the VAVS representatives will be joining us at our Post meeting next week on January 15th at 7:00 PM. She will provide a brief overview of VAVS, including the important work they do and the many ways they support Veterans.

The VAVS program assists hospitalized Veterans through hospital wards, nursing homes, end-of-life care programs, foster care initiatives, community-based volunteer programs, and Veteran outreach centers.
