This week Mrs. Saft's Grossology Camp in Summer SAGE, students explored the science behind germs, digestion, healing, and human body systems through hands-on STEM investigations, engineering challenges, and scientific research. Summer SAGE is off to a great start! In Mrs. Weikel's Cardboard Creations, students used cardboard to bring their ideas to life while learning important construction techniques. They developed independence using the ChompSaw and practiced making straight cuts, circles, layered pieces, and other design elements. Through hands-on building, students strengthened their creativity, problem-solving skills, and confidence as they turned their ideas into three-dimensional creations.

Our Gifted Resource Specialists, on behalf of the SAGE program, are proud to award the inaugural SAGE Illuminators Legacy Award to a rising senior at each high school. The SAGE Legacy award is presented to a student who exemplifies an Illuminator’s Mindset and the qualities empathy, problem finding, risk-taking, networking, observing, creativity, resiliency, reflection and project management.
