Join us for a fun-filled day of softball, fellowship, and giving back to our community! Our Police Department is hosting a Christmas Softball Tournament Fundraiser to help make the holiday season brighter for local families in need.

Campaign Signs Are Not Free For The Taking.

A reminder to everyone in our community: If a political campaign sign is lawfully placed on private property with the property owner's permission, it does not belong to you. Do not remove it, steal it, damage it, or take it home.

Under Virginia Code § 18.2-96, taking someone else's property with the intent to permanently deprive the owner of it can constitute larceny. When the value is less than $1,000, Virginia classifies simple larceny as petit larceny, a Class 1 misdemeanor.

Virginia Code § 15.2-109 also recognizes the right to display political campaign signs on private property when the property owner has given permission.

If a campaign sign is taken or damaged, please document what happened, preserve any video or photographs, and report the incident to the appropriate local law-enforcement agency. Please don't confront or threaten anyone yourself.

Political disagreements are part of democracy. Stealing or damaging someone's campaign property is not.

Respect your neighbors, respect private property, and let voters make their own choices at the poles.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped make this softball tournament such a success! 🥎🏆

While we all came together to have fun, fellowship, and enjoy some great softball, what we accomplished was so much greater. Together, we were able to raise money to help families in need during the Christmas season. 🎄❤️ That’s what community is all about!

I truly appreciate everyone who played, volunteered, donated, supported, and helped make this event possible. Your time, effort, and generosity did not go unnoticed.

Congratulations to the winners of this tournament! 🏆🎉 You all played hard and earned it!

I know this is short notice, but I was giving the opportunity to host this event due to a cancelation. So, please join us for our Charity incrediball Softball Game benefiting the Police Department Christmas Program, which helps provide gifts and holiday cheer to local children and families in need.

Bring your family, cheer on the teams, and help make this Christmas a little brighter for those in our community. Every donation and show of support makes a difference!

The Police department has been made aware of a couple recent social media posts claiming that several recent fires in Glade were intentionally set and suggesting the presence of an arsonist in our community.

To provide accurate information and reassure our residents, we want to clarify the facts. Over the past four years, there has been only one open case of suspected arson, involving the fire at 111 Curtis Lane.

Regarding the most recent fire, the preliminary investigation conducted by the Fire Chief and Police Chief there was no evidence to suggest arson. Based on the initial investigation, the fire is believed to have been caused by faulty electrical equipment.

We are sharing this information to help ease concerns within our community. At this time, there is no evidence to support claims that an arsonist is active in our area.

As always, if new information becomes available through the investigative process, it will be shared with the public through official channels.

Thank you Washington County Virginia Sheriff's Office for including our department in this year's Battleofthe Badges fundraiser for St. Judes.It was an honor to be apart of something so special. I would also like to thank our wonderful sponsors, T&C lawn care and Sweet Ed's diner. Also, thank you for the players who volunteered to play on our team. Without you all events like this would be hard for us to be apart of due to our agency size. Again, thank you all so much. We look forward to next year.

📢 IMPORTANT UPDATE: Independence Day Celebration Postponed

After watching the weather closely all week and waiting until we entered the 48-hour window when forecasts become more reliable, we have made the difficult decision to postpone this Saturday's Independence Day Celebration (originally scheduled for July 11th).

This decision was not made lightly. We consulted with both our Maintenance team and the Police Department to carefully assess the risks to attendees and the site, and ultimately determined that the forecast is too unfavorable to move forward safely. Out of an abundance of caution, we are rescheduling the event to:

We know this is disappointing news, and we share that disappointment. Please know that the safety of our community, vendors, and staff is always our top priority.

🎪 What about our vendors?
We will be reaching out to each vendor individually to determine their availability for August 29th. If any vendor spaces open up as a result, we will reopen the application process.

👉 Look for an update early next week with more information on vendor opportunities.

ARREST ANNOUNCEMENT

On June 4, 2026, the Glade Spring Police Department was notified of an incident involving a juvenile in 2024. An investigation was initiated and conducted by the Glade Spring Police Department.

As a result of the investigation, on June 23, 2026, the following individual was arrested and charged with the following offenses:

[CHAD EVERETT MANN], [Age 46], of [GLADE SPRING VA]

[Charge 1: Two counts of VA code 18.2-63: Carnal knowledge of child between 13 and 15 years of age.

[Charge 2: Two counts of VA code 18.2-255: Distribution of Ma*****na to a minor

[Charge 3: One count of VA code 18.2-255.2 Distribution of Ma*****na to minor on school grounds.

All individuals charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
