Gilroy’s cycling advocates and Gilroy Gardens are happy to host the 6th Annual Ride the Gardens event on May 15, from 5-8pm. Load up those bicycles, push scooters and the family to enjoy Gilroy’s horticulture and family showcase on two wheels. The only rides operating will be the ones you power! By registering to ride you will be eligible to receive a free Bike to Wherever Messenger Bag at the event. Note that bag quantities are limited and may run out, so get on your bike early. This event is limited to 500 people and all participants will be required to check in before entering the park.

Whether you bike every day or once every couple of months - to work, to school, to the coffee shop, to the library - you’re invited to join thousands in celebration of the humble bicycle. May is Bike Month, and you, your friends, and your family are welcome to ride with us on May 14-15 for Bike to Wherever Days. Will you pledge to ride? This year you will have multiple options to join events and energizer stations on Bike to Work Day on May 14 in Gilroy. Letter of support submitted for the May 7, 2026 Planning Commission meeting regarding the City of Gilroy Requesting the Allocation of Fiscal Year 2027 Transportation Development Act Article 3 Pedestrian/Bicycle Project Funding from the Metropolitan Transportation Commission. The General Plan 2040 Mobility Element provides the framework for decisions in Gilroy concerning the citywide transportation system. It seeks to create a balanced transportation network that supports and encourages walking, bicycling, and transit ridership. The goals and policies address a variety of topics, including multimodal transportation, complete streets, pedestrian facilities, bikeways, public transit, vehicular transportation, parking, and goods movement. https://bit.ly/GilroyTDA3
