Campbell County Virtual School is a Campbell County School District program that services students in grades K-6. Most of its students reside in Campbell County. CCVS does accept out-of-district students with an accepted Memorandum of Understanding between the sending and receiving districts. Campbell County School District maintains its own school while contracting with a third-party vendor for c
urriculum, hardware, and software components. The chosen third-party vendor is K12 Inc. CCVS offers local opportunities.
-Highly qualified teachers employed by Campbell County School District.
-Low teacher to student ratio which encourages relationships between teacher and student.
-Local staff and a local enrollment process working hand-in-hand with local schools for a successful and seamless transition of local students. How Does Virtual School Work? A Learning Coach (typically a parent) is necessary. This is a person who delivers the daily lessons at home to the child. The Learning Coach manages the student’s schedule and ensures completion of work and ensures the learning process at home. The CCVS teacher monitors progress and communicates with the Learning Coach and student to ensure learning as well. This type of setting enables an individualized setting and structure for the child. Lesson plans can be varied to accommodate learning styles of the individual student. How long must be spent on schoolwork each day? A reasonable expectation is 5-6 hours each day. This will be individualized depending on the student’s needs, abilities, and learning style. There is an expectation of 2.5% - 3.0 % of progress weekly. Is there a cost for enrollment into Virtual School? There is no cost for enrollment into Campbell County Virtual School as your child will be a public school student and therefore funding is similar to other public school students. How will I get supplies and computer equipment to provide school at home? As part of the enrollment process, you will sign agreements with the third-party vendor to borrow equipment and curriculum. These items will be sent to your home. Upon exit from Virtual School, these items would be returned by you to the third-party vendor. Additional Opportunities that CCVS Offers:
