Had a great candidate's night last night although the turnout was low and there will be no press coverage. We hope that the low turnout is because voters have already made up their minds, and not lack of interest in the issues.

Last night’s DEP workshop focused on the application process for property acquisition. The process is confusing and involves FEMA, the DEP, the township, and homeowners. I am still trying to navigate my way through it, and have gotten a commitment from the DEP to walk us through. Future workshops will focus on the other recommendations from the Passaic River Basin Advisory Commission.

I will be attending a DEP Workshop for Elected Officials Concerning the Passaic River Flood Basin this evening. Presenters will provide information to assist municipalities that are providing flood relief guidance to their residents. Although the Governor's Commission's report barely mentioned Long Hill, I am looking forward to understanding their recommendations and their potential for implementation in Long Hill.
