Dear Parents, Guardians, and Community Members,

As shared with you on 3/9/20, the Long Hill Township School District, will have an early dismissal on Thursday, March 12, 2020 to proactively prepare continuity of instruction in the event our school district needs to close due to the Coronavirus.

Central Middle School students will be dismissed at 12:55 p.m. Gillette and Millington students will be dismissed at 1:25 p.m. After care will be available at Gillette and Millington schools.

Faculty will be utilizing the afternoon of March 12th to plan for continuity of instruction via distance learning in the event of a health-related school closure. The NJDOE has indicated that if we have a plan in place for consistent home instructional services while closed, such days would still count toward our 180-day requirement.

We are in daily communication with the NJDOE and our local Department of Health. They are closely monitoring any suspected cases of COVID-19 and will direct us should they feel we need to take any additional precautions to prevent the spread, including school closure. We will continue to update you with any new information we receive. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we work to keep our students safe, healthy, and engaged.

Thank you for your understanding.
