🌟 Investing in Our Community’s Future 🌟

The Gillett Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to support the City’s new playground project with a donation that reflects our commitment to building a stronger, more vibrant community.

Playgrounds are more than just places to play—they are spaces where children grow, families connect, and memories are made. By investing in this project, we’re helping create a welcoming, inclusive environment where kids can stay active, develop social skills, and enjoy the outdoors in a safe setting.

Supporting this playground also means supporting our local economy and quality of life. When we invest in community spaces, we make our city a more attractive place to live, work, and visit.

We encourage everyone to join us in championing this project—whether through donations, volunteering, or simply spreading the word. Contact the City of Gillett if you are interested!

Together, we can create a space that will serve generations to come. 💙

Here is the weekly update for the WIS 22 roadway project in Gillett. If you know of anyone else who would like to receive these updates, please let me know and I will add them to the list.

This Week (June 8 to June 12): Storm sewer work was completed in the East Washington Street intersection. The pipe crew then proceeded to work south toward West Park Street. Grading operations continued. The contractor excavated the existing roadbed and placed new road base between Elm Avenue and Finnegan Lake Road.

Next Week (June 15 to June 19): Storm sewer work will proceed from the East Washington Street intersection north toward West Pine Street. The grading crew will complete pavement removal, excavation, and road base placement on the west end of the project near the Finnegan Lake Road intersection.

Traffic impacts: WIS 22 will be closed to thru traffic for the duration of the project. During storm sewer work, local traffic may not be able to pass through the area the contractor is working in. In the areas the grading crew is performing roadway excavation, local traffic will not be able to pass through, and driveways will be temporarily inaccessible. The contractor is notifying property owners of driveway accessibility each day. Early in the week of June 15, there will be times where the intersection of Finnegan Lake Road and WIS 22 will be completely closed while the grading crew completes reconstruction of this intersection.

Detour: WIS 22 will remain closed and detoured. The project detour route continues to use County H and County R. This detour will be temporarily removed on June 15. A new detour will be established, directing WIS 22 traffic to use County BE, County E, and WIS 32. The new detour will remain in-place until June 30.
