Mr. Zimmerman’s Cabinet Shop 1 students are putting their skills to work as they build their first their piece of furniture! Students are learning the importance of accurate measuring and careful cutting while working together to solve problems.

It’s awesome to see teamwork, patience, and hands-on learning come together in the shop!

Happy School Custodians Day!

Today, the Gillett School District would like to recognize and thank our outstanding custodial and Buildings & Grounds staff!

A huge THANK YOU to Scott, Mary, Jim, Cheryl, Steve, Todd, and Julisa for everything you do each day to keep our buildings clean, safe, welcoming, and in tip-top shape.

Much of the work you do happens behind the scenes, but it makes a difference every single day for our students, staff, and community.

We appreciate you and all that you do for Gillett Schools!

Respect Focus: Brightening Days with Kind Words! 🌟

This morning, Mrs. Stillings 4th grade class wrapped up their month-long focus on the character trait of Respect with a fun, heart-warming activity!

They played a special version of musical chairs using index cards! Here is how it worked:

Each student wrote their name at the top of an index card.

When the music played, students moved around the room.

When the music stopped, everyone paired up with the classmate nearest to them and wrote down a specific example of how they saw that peer showing respect during the past month!

Cards were passed along each round and never given back to the original owner during the game. This kept everything a surprise, allowing each student to wait until the very end to read all the wonderful things written about them!

The students loved reading the positive feedback and seeing how their classmates noticed them demonstrating respect. It was a fantastic way to celebrate their positive choices and build community in our classroom! 💙🎉

🎉 Multiplication Masters! 🎉

On Tuesday, September 22nd, Mrs. Stillings' 4th-grade class competed in an exciting math game practicing their multiplication skills!
Every single student worked so hard and gave their best effort during this time.

Zack Yost was partnered up against Mrs. Stillings. He put his amazing math skills and talent to work and not only outperformed Mrs. Stillings, but also another 4th-grade classmate! 🧠⚡

Way to go, Zack, and fantastic job to the whole class! We are so proud of your hard work and determination! 👏🌟
