What. A. Week.

GBAAS’ EMS Week 2026 was one for the record books!

From kicking it off by recognizing and acknowledging our staff and their career milestones with our EMS Week dinner to some of our local hospitals, individuals, and companies generously and thoughtfully showering our staff with food and gifts to proudly watching our paramedic students reach their goals of advancement to capping it all off with back-to-back nights of gripping it and ripping it and having a blast at Park North Golf Club, it has been an INCREDIBLE week of honoring and celebrating our EMS family.

We hope that our staff has genuinely felt ALL the appreciation, admiration, and love that we and the communities that we serve have for them, not just this week, but always. 💙🚑

Big thank you to Hillsboro Health Emergency Department staff for the EMS Week love! We appreciate you!

During EMS Week, we acknowledge and celebrate our staff for the incredible job that they do every day. It’s just as important to acknowledge and celebrate them when they work hard and challenge themselves to advance professionally and expand their ability to care for patients.

Last night, Lewis & Clark Community College held its 55th Commencement and conferred its certificates and degrees. Two of our staff members received their associate degree in paramedicine. Congratulations to John Kloss and Lydia Brandon on completing the paramedic program and achieving your degrees.

A third member of our staff, Sophia Brandon, also completed the LCCC paramedic program and is in the process of completing one final class to also achieve her full associate degree in paramedicine.

This career is challenging all on its own, but to do it full time AND be a student in order to raise the bar is a whole different level of commitment.

Congratulations to all three of our new baby medics! We couldn’t be more proud of your accomplishments and that you are part of our team! 🚑

We got a little touch up for our Gillespie office!

Recent (as in last Sunday) Gillespie High School grad Hank Fletcher approached us, as part of the Macoupin County CEO program, to see if we would have any interest in working with him and his project start-up TrueCut Vinyl.

We asked Hank if he could freshen up our logo and create something for our front office door and he delivered! We’re thrilled with the finished product! Thank you, Hank!
