🌿 BRANCH DROP-OFF UPDATE

The burn restriction that prevented the Town from accepting branch drop-off has now been lifted.

However, because the existing burn pile has grown quite large, the Town must schedule the burn for a day when weather conditions are favorable and safe for conducting the burn.

For this reason, branch drop-off will remain temporarily unavailable until the existing pile can be safely addressed.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as we work to manage the pile responsibly and safely. 🌳

Please do not bring additional branches to the drop-off area until the Town announces that branch drop-off has reopened.

Longmont will accept them for a fee of $35.00.

Thank you for helping us keep Gilcrest safe!

Your Mayor Nothem and Mayor Pro Tem Martinez have been on bear duty tonight. We need to give the bear space without onlookers to let him leave town or get trapped and transported.

🐻 BEAR UPDATE: PLEASE GIVE HIM SPACE 🐻

🚨 PLEASE OBEY LAW ENFORCEMENT INSTRUCTIONS.
🚫 Do not approach, follow, chase, surround, or attempt to photograph the bear up close.
🐻 Let him keep moving.

We are asking everyone to please give the bear plenty of space and obey all directions from law enforcement. Do not approach, follow, surround, or attempt to photograph the bear up close.

The bear was chased back up a tree earlier because of the crowds gathering around him. When people give him space, he has a much better chance of continuing safely out of town.

Please let him keep moving. 🐻➡️

Keeping our distance is the safest choice for both the bear and our residents. Please keep children and pets indoors and stay away from the area where the bear is traveling.

Let’s give our four-legged visitor a clear path to head east and get back where he belongs.
