🚒🔥 Training Together. Strengthening Our Skills.

Crews from Rutland Dundee Fire Protection District and the West Dundee Fire Department recently came together for NFPA 1410 training, focusing on essential fire attack strategies, tactics, and teamwork.

This hands-on training provided firefighters with the opportunity to practice critical firefighting techniques, strengthen communication, and improve coordination between departments. By working together in realistic training scenarios, crews continue to build the skills, confidence, and efficiency needed to respond effectively during emergency situations.

Regular training and collaboration between neighboring departments play an important role in ensuring our firefighters are prepared for the challenges they may face in the field.

The Rutland Dundee Fire Protection District recently welcomed Caroline Guibord from Zoll, who provided hands-on training to our personnel on the department’s new Zoll Zenix 12-Lead Monitor/Defibrillator!

We are proud to be one of the first departments in the area to receive this newest model from Zoll, bringing advanced technology and enhanced capabilities to our emergency medical response.

This training provided our firefighters and paramedics with the opportunity to become familiar with the new equipment, strengthen their skills, and ensure they are prepared to use this technology effectively when every second counts.

At Rutland Dundee, we remain committed to investing in training, technology, and equipment that help us provide the highest level of care to the communities we proudly serve.

🚒 Training Together. Serving Stronger.

The Rutland Dundee Fire Protection District dedicated three consecutive days to hands-on training focused on rural water supply operations, alongside members of the East Dundee Fire Protection District, Carpentersville Fire Department, and West Dundee Fire Department.

Rural water operations are essential when responding to incidents in areas without access to a municipal hydrant system. Firefighters must work together to establish and maintain a continuous water supply using water tenders, portable tanks, relay pumping, and coordinated apparatus operations.

Realistic, hands-on training like this helps ensure our crews are prepared to perform these complex operations safely, efficiently, and effectively when every second matters.

We appreciate the dedication and participation of our neighboring departments. Training together today strengthens our partnerships and helps all of us remain better prepared to serve our communities tomorrow.

This week, we proudly swore in two new members to our team and celebrated the promotion of one of our members from part-time to full-time!

Today, we pause to remember the lives lost, the heroes who answered the call, and the countless families forever changed by the events of September 11, 2001.

As we mark the 25th anniversary of 9/11, the Rutland Dundee Fire Protection District honors the firefighters, first responders, law enforcement officers, military personnel, and civilians whose courage, sacrifice, and selflessness will never be forgotten.

We also remember the strength and unity shown by communities across our nation in the days and years that followed.

Twenty-five years later, we continue to honor their legacy through service, remembrance, and a commitment to never forget.
