Honored to attend the Civilians, Airmen, & Soldiers of the Year awards for the Arizona National Guard. Congratulations to the award winners and thank you to all those serving in the Guard for their sacrifices to serve us in the preservation of our freedom. Grateful to spend time with the Adjutant General (TAG), Brigadier General John Conley, and the former TAG, Major General Mick McGuire, as well as many others who currently serve and have served. Blessed!

It’s hard to believe it’s been 20 years… The evening of April 29, 2006, I got the horrible call that Rob Targosz was hit by a DUI driver who ran a red light, and left him there to die after fleeing the scene. Rob fought through the night and sadly passed in the early hours of April 30th, 2006. I’ll never forget the amazing hospital staff at Scottsdale Osborne trauma center who fought for hours trying to save him. 

Rob was an amazing man, friend and brother. When I was baptized, he showed up at my church surprising me and telling me, “This is the greatest day of your life and I would never miss it.” This is the kind of person he was. Rob was a DUI motor hit by very person he worked so hard every night to take off the road, trying to make our community safer. He also served our nation in the Army as a Second LT in the 12th Airborne Special Forces.

I’ll never forget. Miss you brother.
