Support Breast Cancer Awareness with Gilbert PD!

Throughout September, the Gilbert Police Department, in partnership with Gilbert Public Works, is accepting donations for limited‑edition pink patches and pink trash bins. All proceeds benefit Impact One Breast Cancer Foundation, supporting individuals facing breast cancer with vital resources and care.

💗 $10 donation: Pink Patch
💗 $40 donation: Pink Trash Bin + Patch.

Order in person at the Gilbert Police Department (75 E Civic Center Drive). Cash, Zelle, and Venmo accepted.

Please note, bins are limited to 300. Future bin replacements will revert to regular trash cans. The order deadline is September 28. Bin delivery begins early October.

The Town of Gilbert has officially proclaimed September as Su***de Prevention Awareness Month.

This year, our Crisis Response Team (CRT) was honored to accept the proclamation at the Town Council meeting, representing Gilbert’s ongoing commitment to helping and connecting individuals to critical mental health resources, reducing stigma, and spreading hope.

We are proud to highlight the work of our Crisis Response Team (CRT), a dedicated group of officers trained in crisis intervention, de‑escalation, and crisis negotiations. Their mission is to assist individuals in crisis with safety, compassion, and respect.

The Gilbert Police Department continues to investigate the murder of 19-year-old Rachel Hansen, whose life was taken on June 4, 2022. We are sharing an important update in the ongoing investigation, as the reward for information leading to an arrest has been increased to $25,000.

Rachel and her family deserve justice. Critical information may still be unreported. Even details that appeared minor or insignificant at the time could prove essential in identifying those responsible for Rachel’s death and ensuring they are held accountable.

Case Summary: On Saturday, June 4, 2022, just after 2:00 AM, Rachel Hansen called 911 and reported someone had entered her apartment located near San Tan Village Parkway and Coronado Road while she was sleeping and shot her. Rachel was transported to a local hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
