Good evening Folks,

We just had that statewide emergency alert test on April 2nd. A lot of folks around Central Texas received multiple test messages on their phones, and that was exactly the point—to make sure the system works when we really need it.

If you got the test alerts, good. But if you didn’t, or if you want to be certain you’ll hear about floods, storms, or any other emergency right away, now’s the time to act.

Please take a minute today to sign up for alerts. It’s easy—just visit https://www.WarnCentralTexas.org, click “Get Alerts,” and get connected.

A few minutes now could make all the difference when seconds count.

Take care of your family and stay ready.

Power has been restored to affected areas following today’s storm.

At this time, any remaining downed lines are likely telecommunications lines; however, please treat all downed lines as dangerous. Avoid the area and report them so crews can respond appropriately.

City crews have coned off major debris in roadways and will begin clearing operations. We appreciate your patience as this work gets underway.

As is standard after a severe storm, the City will provide limb pickup for the next two weeks. Please place limbs at the curb. Calling in your address is helpful for routing purposes, but not required.

Thank you to our crews for their quick response, and to our community for your patience and cooperation.

🔊 STATEWIDE EMERGENCY ALERT TEST 🔊

Texas Department of Emergency Management (TDEM) will test public warning systems to make sure alerts reach residents quickly during emergencies.

April 2, 2026
From 10:00am – 12:30pm
During this time, you may receive test messages on your phone, email, or local alert systems.

Lee County will also send a test message through its emergency notification system, Everbridge, to individuals who have self-registered to receive alerts.

‼NO ACTION REQUIRED - THIS IS ONLY A TEST‼

These drills help emergency officials confirm that warning systems work when we need them most.

Please share with your family, friends, and neighbors to ensure as many people as possible are aware of the TEST and not surprised when their phone starts receiving multiple messages on April 2.

Questions? Call the Lee County Office of Emergency Management at 979-540-2081.

STAGE 5 WATER RESTRICTIONS – EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY

Over the past three days, citywide water consumption has not decreased under Stage 3 restrictions. Because our storage tanks remain critically low during construction, we must move to Stage 5 restrictions to protect system pressure and avoid a boil water notice.

Effective immediately, water use is restricted to essential needs only.

The following are strictly prohibited:
• Irrigation of landscaped areas
• Washing of motor vehicles, boats, trailers, etc.
• Filling swimming pools
• Operation of ornamental fountains

These measures are temporary and construction is expected to be complete within approximately one week. Restrictions could be reduced sooner if storage levels recover.

We understand this is inconvenient, but these steps are necessary to protect water service for the entire community. We appreciate your immediate cooperation and conservation efforts.
