Volunteers representing the 10U Falcons travel softball team, coached by Kara McAdam, Jess Hornstein, and Cassidi Nuckols, served at the pantry last Friday evening. Volunteers assisted by collating dozens of food boxes that were distributed to our patrons Saturday morning. The pantry wouldn’t operate without generous and selfless volunteers who step up to the plate to serve our community. Thank you, U10 Falcons softball team!

The Gibson Area Food Pantry’s annual summer backpack program will start the week of June 1 and run through mid-August. The backpacks are for families with children ages 18 and younger. One backpack may be picked up per week for families with 4 or fewer in the household or 2 backpacks per week for families with 5 or more in the household. Available for pickup at libraries in Gibson City, Paxton, and Melvin, the bags contain children-friendly food such as macaroni and cheese; canned fruits, vegetables, and soup; peanut butter and jelly; and other snack food items. Pickup locations and times are listed below.

Thank you!!

Proud of our girls for showing up and giving back this weekend at the food pantry. Serving our community matters, and they represented our program so well.

We missed a few of our teammates who were away at an FBLA conference, but the heart behind this team was still fully present. 💙
