Another firefighter survivor /FAST series was completed last night at the training facility. Thanks to the eight firefighters from across the county that stepped up their training to the next level. A job well done by the students and instructors .

The Columbia County Fire Coordinators’s Office and the Columbia County Volunteer Firefighters Association with the help of Task Force 1 Training Services hosted a weekend long Bus and Heavy Truck rescue class at the county training facility. Firefighters from Spencertown, Ghent, Greenport, Germantown, Claverack, Philmont and Stuyvesant Falls Fire Companies spent two days honing their skills and learning more effective and efficient ways to handle accidents involving school busses, motor vehicles , and heavy trucks . Thanks to the instructors from Task Force 1, all the firefighters spending a weekend at the training facility and Barry Burch Towing, Simon’s Automotive, Hildebrandt Trucking , A Colarusso and Sons and Chatham Central School District for donating vehicles and demonstration vehicles to this great advanced class .

Thanks to the recent firefighters completing a blended BEFO class at the PJ Keeler response an training facility. Students completed at own studies and a rigorous hands on skills sessions to successfully complete this training .
Thanks to all the fire departments for their support , to the instructors for their commitment, and to the firefighters for their dedication to helping their communities.
