One of the privileges of community foundation work is learning from people whose lived experiences become catalysts for change.

I recently wrote about a donor whose advocacy for transition education programs for young adults with developmental disabilities has deeply moved me. His story is a reminder that philanthropy is often at its most powerful when it grows from love, empathy, and firsthand understanding.

As someone who studied music and values the arts, I’ve always believed the most impactful people are those willing to combine creativity, compassion, and action in service to others. Watching this effort grow from a small idea into something that is creating real visibility and opportunity for students has been inspiring.

This essay reflects on advocacy, dignity, and the importance of listening to the people closest to a community’s needs.

We are grateful to the Adams County Community Foundation for their generous support of Hoffman Homes Outpatient Therapy Program 💚

This meaningful investment reflects the Adams County Community Foundation’s commitment to strengthening our community and expanding access to vital mental health services. We extend our sincere thanks to the Adams County Community Foundation’s board and staff for recognizing the value of outpatient therapy and the impact it has on individuals and families across Adams County 🙏

Hoffman Homes’ Outpatient program provides individual, family, and group therapy for children, adolescents, and adults. Licensed by the PA Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (OMHSAS) since 2022, we offer a safe, welcoming space for healing and growth 🌱

Our Mental Health Professionals utilize evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), EMDR, Motivational Interviewing, solution-focused therapy, and mindfulness techniques to support those experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, autism, and life transitions 🧠✨

We proudly serve individuals and families, working alongside parents, guardians, schools, healthcare providers, and county agencies to create personalized paths toward healing 🤝 Telehealth services are also available to ensure care remains accessible to all 💻
