Gettysburg is a small town made famous by one of the most important battles of the Civil War and the most significant speech made in American history. Surrounded by farmland and quaint towns, Gettysburg Area School District serves students in a 185-square mile area that includes Gettysburg Borough, Cumberland, Highland, Franklin, Freedom and parts of Straban and Mount Joy townships. The Gettysburg

National Military Park, Gettysburg College and the Lutheran Theological Seminary are within the district. Gettysburg Area School District features three kindergartens through fifth-grade buildings, one middle school (grades 6-8) and one high school (grades 9-12). This give-back event will take place from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. at Dairy Queen, 915 York Road, Gettysburg. When visiting Dairy Queen, please mention the event and Dairy Queen will donate 20% of your purchase to Ruth's Harvest.

🍎Free Summer Meals for Kids in our Community

GASD's Seamless Summer Food Service Program is returning in two weeks, providing FREE breakfast and lunch to children throughout the community. Kids up to age 18 and GASD-enrolled students with disabilities up to age 21 can enjoy free meals, regardless of economic status or school district.

🗓 DATES & TIMES:
Monday through Thursday from June 17 through August 6
In-Person Lunch: 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Closed: Fridays

📍LOCATION:
Gettysburg Area Middle School Cafeteria
37 Lefever St., Gettysburg PA 17325

Please note: parents and coaches must stay and supervise. Breakfast will be available as grab-n-go, but all other meals must be eaten on site.

On National Smile Day, we're sharing this meaningful message from the Gettysburg Area High School Life Skills class from Lincoln Intermediate Unit 12. "Smile, You Matter" reminds us all of the power of kindness, positivity, and making others feel seen and valued.

GASD will operate on a four-day workweek. Hours for all buildings and offices within the district will be:
Monday-Thursday - 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Fridays - Closed

What a year it has been at GASD! ❤️

From exciting accomplishments to everyday moments that made us smile, this school year was filled with growth, friendship, learning, and Warrior pride. As students boarded the buses one final time, JGE staff lined the way with cheers, waves, and hugs to celebrate the start of summer break. 🚌☀️

✍️The Class of 2026 has officially signed out.

As the school year comes to a close, it only seemed fitting to end it with the proper sign out. This wonderful video produced and edited by GAHS graduate Brody Seidel captured the Class of 2026 leaving their mark one final time before beginning the next chapter.

While we'll certainly miss these Warriors walking our halls, we know they are ready to do incredible things in the future. No matter where life takes them next, they'll always be part of the Warrior family.

Our Franklin Township Elementary Warriors are still making unforgettable memories as the school year comes to a close.

Students were all smiles yesterday during "Soak the Staff," cheering loudly and having an absolute blast as staff members stepped up to get soaked for the fun. From laughter to nonstop excitement from the crowd, the afternoon was filled with joy, school spirit, and wonderful moments.

Thank you to our incredible staff for always going above and beyond to create meaningful experiences for our Warriors. The cheers, the happiness, and the fun made it the perfect way to celebrate another amazing year together. 🫶
