Today, our department mourns the heartbreaking loss of Officer Kristen Yeager, who made the ultimate sacrifice while responding to a call for service on May 29, 2026.

Officer Yeager served our community with courage, compassion, and unwavering dedication. She answered the call to protect and serve each day, placing the safety of others above her own. Her commitment to her badge, her fellow officers, and the citizens she served will never be forgotten.

We ask that you keep Officer Yeager’s family, friends, and our entire law enforcement family in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.

Rest easy, Officer Yeager. Your watch has ended, but your legacy of service and sacrifice will live on forever. We got it from here.

It is with deep sorrow that I join our law enforcement family in mourning the loss of Deputy Logan Utt of the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, Virginia. Deputy Utt made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty while serving his community during a welfare check.

On behalf of the Adams County Sheriff’s Office, we extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and all members of the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office. We also pray for the recovery of the injured deputy and for
strength for all those affected by this tragic incident.

Deputy Utt’s service and sacrifice will never be forgotten. We stand in solidarity with our brothers and sisters in law enforcement during this difficult time.

A huge thank you to our last group of little visitors! We were truly surprised and grateful for the thoughtful gift you sent us. Your kindness meant more than you know.

We proudly hung your photo on our Community Matters board so our deputies see it every single day. It serves as a reminder of exactly why they chose this profession to serve, protect, and make a positive difference for the next generation.

Thank you again, kiddos. Your visit and your gift brought a lot of smiles to this office!

This morning started long before most people were awake. While many knew our previous Sheriff’s Office from behind the desk, leadership also means getting out on the road and carrying the same weight our deputies carry every single day.

Early this morning, myself and our Sgt. hit the road for a transport detail. I have always been a firm beliver that no task is beneath leadership.

Being Sheriff isn’t just about giving direction it’s about standing beside your team, putting in the work, and understanding firsthand the demands placed on the men and women serving this community daily.

I will never ask our deputies to do something I’m unwilling to do myself. Leadership means getting your hands dirty, sharing the workload, and leading from the front.

Proud to serve alongside some of the hardest working deputies around.
