Gettysburg College Democrats

Gettysburg College Democrats Join the most active political club on campus! Meetings: Wed. @ 7PM, Glat 102. Please join us, and feel free to message us for further information.

Help us work on campaigns at all levels of government, increase political activity on campus, bring in great speakers, and promote the important goals of the Democratic Party. Officially recognized in 1993, our chapter of Gettysburg College Democrats has spent nearly 25 years working on local, state, and national elections, spreading political awareness on campus, and promoting the core ideals of

the Democratic Party and all that it stands for. Now, in a time when Democrats must fight harder than ever before, we are excited to work hard on upcoming campaigns, bring important speakers to campus, and register as many voters as we can to turn Pennsylvania blue again!

Today marks 155 years since federal orders were announced in Galveston, Texas which emancipated the last group of enslaved people in America. Today is a day to celebrate Black freedom, but also to recognize the steps that still must be taken in order to achieve full racial justice and equality.

Our Story

Officially recognized in 1993, Gettysburg College Democrats has spent the past 25 years working on local, state, and national elections, spreading political awareness on campus, and promoting the core ideals of the Democratic Party and all that it stands for. Now, in a time when Democrats must fight harder than ever before, we are excited to work hard on upcoming campaigns, bring important speakers to campus, and register as many voters as we can to turn Pennsylvania blue again!

This year, we are ready to do our part in changing the status quo. The President of the United States and his party are a threat to everything we cherish as young Americans. We will not stand for Donald Trump’s intolerance and destructive behavior. This is the year for Democrats to take back our country and set the course for the future we all deserve. Are you with us?
