The Sons of Amvets Squadron 172 is asking for their memberships help in submitting donated time to the community which benefits our squadron at the state and federal level. Each hour donated in service to the community counts. Our Squadron is currently in the top 5 for the state in donated time project reports and that is with roughly 10 members reporting.

Any volunteer work in the community, church, school counts. Examples: Time spent coaching youth sports, helping neighbors, transporting others that do not have vehicles, volunteering to mow someone's lawn, shovel a driveway, church volunteering etc. All donated time for your community counts.

The Sons of Amvets met last Saturday for a work day to chip, scrape, sand, scuff, and paint the howitzer that sits in front of the Fairfield Amvets Post 172 club. The years of sitting in the elements were starting to show. Below are the before and after photos.

Coaches of the Union Soccer Club presented the Amvets Post 172 with a team picture to thank the club for their generous donation for the Knights to attend the Fallston Cup soccer tournament. The donation was a collaboration between the Sons of Amvets, The Post, and the Ladies Auxiliary.

Tickets are now available to the general public for our 25th Anniversary Celebration Banquet. See any sons officer now until September 16th to reserve your ticket. Below is a brief description of the event.

The Sons of Amvets Squadron #172 will be turning 25 years old this year and in commemoration of this achievement will be holding a celebration banquet. The event will be held at the club on Saturday October 7th, 2023 with doors opening at 5pm.

This exclusive closed door event will consist of:
o A catered meal (stuffed chicken breast, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, roll and butter) by Gus and Teds from Waynesboro, PA.
o Door Prizes, 50/50 Raffle, additional giveaways.
o Entertainment provided by Austin Poulson.

Tickets are $25.00 per person.
