Ask: What’s in the best interest of kids?
Not: What’s in the best interest of the public, the taxpayer, the nation or anything else.
If: You do what’s in the kids’ best interest, you’ll also do what’s in the best interest of the public, the taxpayer, and the nation.
Remember: The impassioned partisans at your board meeting are not “the public.” They are only a part of the public, and usually a very small part.

Community Conversations, tonight at Houston High School, 6:30 pm! Join us for a round table discussion aimed at making connections between local policy makers, business leaders, special education teachers, faith-based organizations, and parents of individuals with disabilities. Since 2005, the employment rate for Tennesseans with disabilities has steadily declined and recent data indicate that fewer then 17% of the population are working. As a forward thinking community, it is time to have a conversation.

Very humbled to be recognized as the 1st Chairman of the GMSD last night at the board meeting. I love my job as a school board member! Congratulations to Chairman Linda Fisher as she conducted her first meeting as Chairman!
