Get Ready for Spelling Bee 🐝 at County Line! 💛💙 Here is everything you need to know!! 👇

🐝 WHEN:
* Spelling Bee practices are every Wednesday during lunch recess from 10/28 through 11/18.
* Grade level Bees will be held during lunch recess on 12/2.
* The top finishers from the grade Bees will advance to the School Spelling Bee on 12/9 at 1:30 in the cafetorium!

🐝 WHO: All students in grades 3-5 are invited to participate in any or all practices. No sign up required.

🐝 NEW this year: parents can register with the Spelling Bee Resource Center to download all study lists and access other resources. Registration is free for parents since the PTA has enrolled the school with Scripp's. You just need to select that your child attends County Line Elementary.

🏃‍♀️☄️ WHAT IS IT? — COUNTY LINE MARATHON! ☄️🏃‍♂️

You may have heard that the County Line Marathon is coming up, but what exactly is it? Here’s the scoop! 👇

🏃 THE GOAL:
Students in grades K5–5 will have 10 recess periods to complete 150 minutes of walking and/or running — that’s a goal of 15 minutes per recess!

Students can also use an additional 5 minutes each day to make up for missed time.

🌧️ WHAT IF IT RAINS?
Rain dates will be canceled rather than moved indoors this year. The total goal will be adjusted for rain cancellations and grade-level field trips.

🏅 WHAT DO STUDENTS GET?
Students who complete the 150-minute goal (or adjusted goal) will officially complete the Marathon and receive a special prize! Prizes will be delivered to classrooms, hopefully in November.

🏆 THERE’S ALSO A CLASS CHALLENGE!
The class in each grade level with the highest participation rate will earn:
✨ A trophy to keep in their classroom for the rest of the school year
✨ Recognition at the November school assembly
✨ A class popsicle party sponsored by the PTA! 🍧

👟 ONE LAST THING:
Send your Comet in comfy shoes so they’re ready to walk, run and have some fun!
