Mustang Memo
Week of October 26–30, 2026
Good afternoon, Mustang Families!
We have an exciting week ahead at Germanton Elementary School! From celebrating Red Ribbon Week to welcoming special guests and enjoying our annual Halloween festivities, there is plenty to look forward to. Please take a moment to review this week's important announcements and upcoming events.
❤️ Red Ribbon Week: October 26–30
This week, Germanton Elementary School will celebrate Red Ribbon Week, a national campaign that promotes healthy, safe, and drug-free lifestyles. Red Ribbon Week is an opportunity to teach our students the importance of making positive choices, taking care of their bodies and minds, and building healthy habits that will benefit them throughout their lives.
By participating in Red Ribbon Week, we encourage our Mustangs to make safe decisions, resist harmful influences, and understand that the choices they make today can help shape a healthy and successful future. Families play an important role in reinforcing these messages at home, and we appreciate your partnership in helping our students make choices that keep them safe and healthy.

Special Performance by the South Stokes High School Band
We are excited to welcome the South Stokes High School band to GES for a special performance! Our students will have the opportunity to enjoy the music and talent of these high school musicians. We are grateful to our South Stokes partners for taking the time to connect with our Mustangs and share their talents with us.
🚜 Thursday, October 29
Kindergarten Field Trip to Dobson Farm
Our kindergarten students will enjoy a special field trip to Dobson Farm. We look forward to this opportunity for our young Mustangs to learn, explore, and make lasting memories outside the classroom.
👀 Annual Mass Vision Screening
Our annual mass vision screening will also take place on Thursday, October 29, for students in grades 1, 3, and 5. These screenings help identify potential vision concerns that may affect a child's learning and provide an opportunity for families to follow up when additional evaluation is needed.
🎃 Friday, October 30
Annual Halloween Parade and Trunk or Treat | 8:00–10:00 AM
We are looking forward to celebrating Halloween with our annual Halloween parade, followed by our Trunk or Treat from 8:00 to 10:00 AM! We appreciate everyone who helps make this a fun and memorable experience for our students.
Students and staff are invited to wear Halloween costumes to school on Friday. To ensure a safe and enjoyable celebration for everyone, please follow these costume guidelines:
Costumes must not be overly scary.
Fake blood is not permitted.
Weapons or items that resemble weapons may not be brought to school.
Masks may not be worn.
Thank you for helping us maintain a safe, school-appropriate environment while allowing our Mustangs to enjoy the festivities.
