🚒 Today Engine 3 and our Prevention Engine participated in a Touch A Truck event at Grace Christian Church. We were there with other public service groups: EMS, Scott County FD, PD, Fish and Wildlife, UPS, the Bookmobile, Forestry, Lexington PD and KSP. Thanks for inviting us! What a great way to reach out to our kids!

🚒Yesterday, Engine 3 visited the awesome kiddos at My Church Day Care! They got to learn about firefighters and how we're here to help them. Some even dressed up!

🎉Congratulations to Chief Seth Johnson!!! Chief Johnson was acknowledged last night by Mayor Jenkins for his 20 years of service to the Georgetown Fire Department and the citizens of Georgetown. Chief, your dedication, hard work, and commitment over the past two decades are greatly appreciated!

The past couple of days, some of GFD's personnel trained at the Kentucky River. Engineer Ford and Captain Morrison taught boat operations and J-turn maneuvering. Any chance to get out on open water is a great day of training!

🧯Today we taught the RA's of Georgetown College the basics of fire safety. They got to use our new fire extinguisher prop! We wish all the college students a safe and fun school year. GO TIGERS! 🐅

🚒This morning, 3rd Platoon responded to a structure fire on South Hamilton St. Smoke was reported coming from the second story. Crews were able to quickly search, deploy the attack line and extinguish the fire. No injuries were reported and our crews were able to rescue the occupant and her two cats. This is what we train for. Strong work 3rd Platoon!! 💪

🚒 Junior Fire Academy Graduation 🚒

We wrapped up another outstanding Junior Fire Academy, and what a great group this was! This class brought energy, effort, and a willingness to learn each and every day.

It’s always encouraging to see so many motivated young people take an interest in the fire service and their community. They represented themselves and their families well all week.

A big thank you to all of our crews and instructors for the time, effort, and dedication you put into making this program a success.

Who knows—maybe we’ll see some of them wearing the uniform one day.

Great job to all of our graduates! 👏🔥
