A new wave of text scams has been reported that impersonate the Transportation Cabinet’s driver licensing offices and Office of Highway Safety. If you receive one of these texts, do NOT click on the link! 🚨

It was not sent by KYTC, as we do not collect traffic ticket fees. If you’ve provided any personal information, contact your bank immediately.

I also received a call today. Warrants are NOT issued for missing jury duty. This is a scam.

It’s unfortunate we feel the need to share this so frequently, but we’re receiving another wave of warrant scam attempts.

We have victims who have lost thousands.

The caller is “spoofing” our phone number so it appears it’s coming from our office and telling citizens they have active warrants and asking for payment over the phone to settle the issue.

They have gone as far as successfully convincing victims to transfer them bitcoin.

Just another reminder, we will NEVER discuss warrants or ask for any form of payment over the phone.

Please warn the elderly in your life as they are unfortunately the most common victims.

The Scott County Justice Building will be closed on Monday, January 26th.

If you have court, you will receive a notice in the mail with your new court date.

If you are a Circuit juror, the trial has been moved to Wednesday, January 28th.
