Williamson County Commissioners Court accepted $300,000 in grant funding from the Texas Veterans Commission to support the Veterans Services Office Emergency Financial Assistance Program.
The funding is part of a combined $660,000 awarded to Williamson County for emergency financial assistance and the Veterans Treatment Court.
During the last grant period, the emergency assistance program served 301 members of the veteran community, exceeding its goal of 100, and helped prevent more than 14 evictions.

The Williamson County Commissioners Court proclaimed September 2026 as National Preparedness Month.
Prepare now by building a disaster supply kit, creating a family emergency plan and signing up for local alerts at WarnCentralTexas.org.

The Williamson County Commissioners Court proclaimed September 2026 as National Preparedness Month, encouraging residents to take steps now to prepare for emergencies.

Build a three- to six-day disaster supply kit with food, water, medications and important documents. Create a family emergency plan and remember to include the needs of children, older adults, people with disabilities, those with medical devices and pets.

Preparedness starts with staying informed. Find emergency preparedness resources at Ready.gov and sign up for local emergency alerts at WarnCentralTexas.org.
