As the weather warms up and we start seeing more kids out and about, we want to remind everyone of the Village’s curfew guidelines.
Children under the age of 15 are not permitted to be out on public streets after 10:00 PM unless accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Those ages 15–17 are not permitted to be out after 11:00 PM unless accompanied. Exceptions apply for school or Village-sponsored events, but juveniles are expected to head home within 30 minutes after those activities end.
We’re typically not overly strict with curfew enforcement, but when we begin seeing issues like vandalism, property damage, or other disruptive behavior—as shown in the attached video—we will increase enforcement to help keep our community safe and respectful for everyone.
"It's just some kids being kids, pushing over garbage cans" you ask? It may not be a big deal to you, until it's your garbage that you have to clean up, your can that's broke, or your property being damaged. This type of behavior tends to escalate into more aggressive behavior and damage.
We ask parents to please be aware of the time and where your kids are to help us keep Georgetown a great place to live.
