We’ve heard from many residents about ongoing water outages, pressure issues, and boil advisories—and we want to address what’s happening.

While construction activity by MainStream Fiber has led to water line breaks, it’s important to understand why this keeps occurring. Before any digging begins, utility companies are required to mark where their underground lines are located. In this case, Indiana American Water is responsible for those markings, and the locations provided have not been accurate. As a result, contractors are unintentionally striking water lines.

The Town has made Indiana American Water aware of the repeated inaccuracies and the impact they are having on our community. We are continuing to advocate for better coordination and more reliable locating practices.

If you’ve been affected, we strongly encourage you to contact Indiana American Water directly to file a complaint. Customer feedback is a critical driver in prompting change, especially when service interruptions affect daily life.

We will continue working on your behalf to improve the situation.
