The Scott County Coroner’s Office has identified the deceased individual found yesterday afternoon on Triport Road as Garret Christopher Kidd age 33 of Georgetown.

On April 21, 2026, at approximately 4:00 pm, deputies with the Scott County Sheriff's Office received a call in reference to a deceased person located on Triport Road in Georgetown, KY.

Detectives with the Criminal Investigation's Section responded to the scene and have no cause of death at this time.

The Scott County Coroner's Office will be transporting the deceased to the Kentucky State Police Central Laboratory for an autopsy.

This case is still currently being investigated.

Scott County Coroner Mark Sutton is proud to be attending the 2026 Kentucky Coroner’s Association Annual Conference. The conference offers vauable training and collaboration sessions. This week is attended by Coroners from across the Commonwealth. Sessions include current drug abuse trends, medicolegal investigations and mental health awareness and more. Staying current on trends and medical situations is key to providing the best and most up to date service to our Scott County citizens.

Update on fatal accident on Frankfort Rd on 10/22/25:

The victim of the fatal accident on Frankfort Rd is 34 year old Eliziar Perez.

Due to ongoing investigation by the Scott County Sheriff's Office, no further details will be released by the coroner's office at this time.

At 8 pm on the evening of Wednesday, 10/22/25, the Scott County Coroner's Office responded to the 2400 block of Frankfort Rd for a fatal two vehicle accident. A mid-sized SUV traveling eastbound crossed over the centerline and struck a pickup truck traveling westbound head-on. An occupant of the pickup truck was pronounced deceased on scene. The driver of the SUV and the driver and other occupant of the pickup truck were taken to the hospital to be evaluated.

In conjunction with the Scott County Sheriff's office, an investigation/accident reconstruction is ongoing. Alcohol and distracted driving are suspected to be the cause of the accident. Questions regarding the incident should be directed towards the Sheriff's office, as they are lead investigative agency. Additional details may be released upon conclusion of the investigation. The name of the victim is being withheld pending the notification of family.

Thank you to Georgetown PD, Scott County Fire Dept, Georgetown Fire Dept, Georgetown-Scott Co EMA, and Georgetown-Scott Co EMS, for providing assistance on scene.

The Scott County Coroner's Office, in coordination with Georgetown PD and OSHA, is currently investigating an industrial accident at International Crankshaft involving a contractor conducting machine maintenence. The identity of the deceased is being withheld at this time pending notification of family.

Press Release:

At 2:09 pm on 10/31, Georgetown and Scott County Fire Departments were dispatched to Bluegrass Storage for a storage unit on fire. Upon making entry to the storage unit, a dog came running out, which led firefighters to believe a person may be inside. Georgetown Fire Dept made entry into the unit and located a male victim. The coroner's office was requested at that time.

Our office is currently conducting a joint investigation with Georgetown Fire Dept Fire Marshal's office and Georgetown PD. The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification of the family.
