๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Special Recognition at Southern Elementary ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

At 5th Grade Graduation, we recognized two students who faithfully raised and lowered the American flag throughout the school year.

Their dedication, responsibility, and respect for our nationโ€™s flag set a great example for others.

Thank you for your service to your school, and congratulations on your graduation! ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‘

๐Ÿ“ž Accidentally Dialed 911? Donโ€™t Hang Up! ๐Ÿš”

It happens more often than you thinkโ€”pocket dials, kids playing with phones, or misdials in a hurry. But if you accidentally call 911, please stay on the line.
When a 911 call is made, dispatchers are required to treat it as a potential emergency. If you hang up, officers may be sent to your location to make sure everything is okayโ€”tying up valuable resources that could be needed elsewhere.

If you call by mistake:
๐Ÿ‘‰ Simply stay on the line
๐Ÿ‘‰ Let the dispatcher know it was accidental
๐Ÿ‘‰ Answer any quick follow-up questions

This helps us confirm that everyone is safe and prevents unnecessary emergency responses.

Your cooperation keeps our officers available for real emergenciesโ€”and helps keep our community safe. ๐Ÿ‘

Packages ending up at the wrong house is more common than youโ€™d think โ€” and the fix is often surprisingly simple: your address isnโ€™t clearly visible from the street.

Make your home easy to find by doing these three things:
โœ”๏ธ Install large, easy-to-read house numbers on the front of your home
โœ”๏ธ Keep your mailbox clearly labeled
โœ”๏ธ Add painted curb numbers (where allowed)
These small upgrades can prevent delivery mix-ups and save you a lot of frustration.

๐Ÿšจ PRO TIP: Highly visible address numbers donโ€™t just help delivery drivers โ€” they also help police, fire, and EMS locate your home quickly during an emergency.
Donโ€™t wait until it matters most. Take a few minutes today to make sure your address stands out!

๐Ÿš” TIRE BLOWOUT? HEREโ€™S WHAT TO DO. ๐Ÿš”

It can happen to anyoneโ€”and it usually happens when you least expect it. A tire blowout while driving can be scary, but staying calm and knowing what to do can make all the difference.

If your tire blows:
โœ”๏ธ Keep a firm grip on the wheel
โœ”๏ธ Ease off the gasโ€”donโ€™t slam the brakes
โœ”๏ธ Safely move to the shoulder or a secure area
โœ”๏ธ Turn on your hazard lights
โœ”๏ธ Call for help if needed

Your safety comes first. If youโ€™re on a busy roadway or donโ€™t feel safe changing the tire, stay in your vehicle and call for assistance.
