On May 22, 2026, officers with the Georgetown Police Department responded to the area of Hutchins Drive regarding a reported weapons offense.
Upon arrival, officers located one male with an apparent gunshot wound and a second male suffering from serious physical injuries consistent with a stabbing. Georgetown-Scott County EMS responded and provided medical care. The stabbing victim was transported to the hospital for further treatment. The gunshot victim was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Scott County Coronerโs Office.
During the investigation, officers identified Jonathan Hunter Mullins as a person involved in the incident. Based on the investigation by the Georgetown Police Criminal Investigation Division, probable cause was established, and Mullins was arrested and charged with Murder and Assault 1st Degree. Mullins was lodged at the Scott County Detention Center.
