**ATTENTION ALL BROWN COUNTY LANDLORDS**

The Brown Metropolitan is looking to find private landlords who are willing to accept the Brown Metropolitan Housing Vouchers!!

If you are a landlord in the Brown County area who has considered renting to the voucher program but haven’t please reach out! We are happy to answer any
Questions you may have!! I will list some common misconceptions of how the program works, and what we are asking for. If you are interested in learning more please contact me, (Madison Glenn) at my contact number below. Thank you!!

****if you aren’t a landlord please share so we can reach as many landlord as possible****

1. We have heard of the horror stories of renting to the voucher program, how do we know that it won’t happen to us? There has been a misconception at some point in time that the voucher program runs background checks, and landlord references prior to issuing a voucher. That is NOT true. It is up to the landlord to do these types of checks prior to renting. We strongly suggest doing this to prevent any issues.

2. What happens if a voucher holder destroys my unit? Unfortunately, we do not pay for any damage a renter may cause. However, if someone that has a voucher destroys your unit we will terminate their assistance and they will not be allowed to have another voucher issued to them through our voucher program.

3. What is rent like, how do we receive it, and what can we charge? With the voucher program that can vary depending on the voucher size the individual was issued. Currently the rents that we are allotted to pay aren’t up to par with some of the pricing. We are hoping to work with landlords so that everyone is happy. We issue a check around the first of every month and mail to the landlord unless otherwise directed.

4. How do I be apart of the program? You can call in give us your contact information and we will put your contact on our landlord list for possible renters/voucher holders to contact you.

5. Does any unit qualify? Not any unit can qualify. The unit needs to be able to pass an HQS inspection. The best way to explain that is our rule of thumb, “if it is in the unit, it has to work.”

6. Can we raise rents? When first entering the program you are not allowed to raise the rent for the term of 1 year. After the first year you can ask for a rent increase.

If you have any other questions or concerns please contact me at 937-378-6041 ext. 320

Thank you,

Madison Glenn

Hey Everyone,

We are currently looking for someone to correct and reseal 20 driveways!

If you are interested in placing a bid you may contact me at [email protected]

For the bids you must have insurance, complete and return a W-9, and if you have employees you must return worker’s compensation insurance. (If you are the only employee you must write a statement stating that and that is why you do not have workers comp)

These houses are located in Wi******er and Peebles. For more information you may email me at the email above or reach me via phone at 937-378-6041 ext. 320, my name is Madison Glenn.

We need this completed before August 31, 2024. That means that bids will be accepted until 8/13/2024 (I know we are on a time crunch but we wanted to be upfront about that so if you are unable to complete by deadline please do not submit bid)

07/22/2024

Please see the update to this post! Cut off date for bids will be August 9, 2024.

***Update 7/22/2024***
We are so grateful for all the business wanting to quote this work for us. Since there has been a lot of traction on this post I wanted to make a few updates. If you are interested in submitting the bid for this job you may do so at [email protected]
If you have further questions or would like to meet with me personally you may call me at 937-378-6041 ext. 320, my name is Madison Glenn. Since there is a lot of interest in this job I would like to set a cut off date for the bids. If you would like to submit a bid for this job you must do so by August 9, 2024. For your bid to be eligible for consideration you must have all of your insurance information (including workers comp if you have more than one employee, or a statement saying you are the only employee) and a completed W9, along with the bid. We would also like the bid for the power washing and porch staining/painting to be separate bids. Please note we are a non-profit and we are tax exempt, and we are on a 30 day pay cycle which means we only write checks for jobs once a month typically the 15th of the month.

ABCAP housing needs a business that would like to power wash 20 houses, and paint and stain 20 porches.
The business must have insurance and workers comp if they have more than one employee. We will need a completed W9.
Thank you in advance!
