Genola Fire Department is hosting a blood drive for the American Red Cross on June 2nd from 1pm to 7pm at the Genola Fire Station. We have 35 spots still open, please help save a life and donate.

Genola Fire Department is grieving the loss of one of our own. Lewis Balzly was a husband, father and friend to all passed away on March 7, 2026 from a medical condition. Our small department’s hearts and prayers are with his family right now, we want them to know how much we care for them at this difficult time. Lewis has been serving with the Town of Genola Fire Department since 2004 our hearts are broken and we will miss Lewis for his hard work and dedication to the citizens of Genola and surrounding communities. Lewis was one that kept everyone smiling with his no-nonsense approach to any situation he encountered. Mechanically inclined Lewis could fix anything we needed with ease he made it look effortless. He will be remembered as a great friend, mentor, leader and a role model. Rest easy brother for a job well done, your service will not be forgotten.
We ask that you keep Lewis’s family in your thoughts and prayers as they move through this extremely difficult situation.

It is with very heavy hearts we sadly report that the Genola Fire Department has lost one of our own. Marcee Nelson was a valued member of the department and leaves a hole in our department that will be hard to fill. Marcee joined the department in July of 2022, and immediately started classes for her firefighter 1 & 2, Wildland and EMT, she had a contagious spirit and a never quit attitude. She dedicated her time on the department with helping the citizens of Genola and surrounding communities.
We ask that you keep Marcee’s family in your thoughts and prayers as they move through this extremely difficult situation.

Santa is taking some time out of his busy schedule to visit us at the Fire Station on December 13th. We will first drive him around town to see everyone in a fire truck. Then he will visit with the boys and girls from 10am to 12 noon

We held our second Extrication class in Genola, this was a advanced class for those that attended last years. Utah Fire and Rescue Academy (UFRA) showed up with 4 awesome instructors, and great tools for us to use. We would like to thank them for sharing their Saturday and their knowledge.

Just a reminder to come down to the Genola Fire Station for our annual open house tonight. The always popular grease fire prop is back this year, don’t miss it. Free brochures on health, Firewise (Wildland), elderly care, emergencies, and more. Genola Fireman Association T-Shirts will be for sale. All you can eat popcorn will be served, Fowers Fruit Ranch will be giving away apples. Starts at 6:00pm and will run though 8:00pm. Come and see what services your fire department provides for the Town of Genola.

We are having a fundraiser through December for families in need in Genola. Contact any firefighter if your interested in helping out, we will have Apple Gift boxes for sale. These are around 16lbs with a selection of Fuji, Braburn, Pink Lady and Golden Delicious apples packed by a local grower for $20.00 per box.

We will have them at the Santa visit this Saturday from 10:00 am till noon.
